Teen Challenge of Nevada, Inc. was founded in 1998 through a bequest from the Irene Schmitt Estate and was known as Northern Nevada Teen Challenge, Inc. Northern Nevada Teen Challenge is dedicated to helping adolescent boys who are struggling with life controlling and behavioral problems. The center is situated on six acres north of Sparks, Nevada on Pyramid Highway. It is housed in a large ranch style home capable of housing 16 boys. It is home for up to 16 adolescent boys who are working to overcome life-controlling problems.

In the year 2001 the name was changed to Teen Challenge of Nevada, Inc. in recognition of Teen Challenge's expanding role in helping hurting people throughout the entire state of Nevada. It is currently working to establish a men's center in the Las Vegas area.
Teen Challenge of Nevada is nationally certified with Teen Challenge USA which offers over 150 teen and adult recovery centers in the United States with an additional 250 centers around the world. It is also certified with the School of Tomorrow.
Teen Challenge of Nevada is a non-profit 501(c)(3) faith based organization and depends on the contributions of churches, individuals and businesses. Those who need our help the most can least afford help. Please consider a donation to Teen Challenge.
"The struggle of adolescent boys is not one of simply fighting life controlling behaviors and habits, but one of surrendering their proud and oppositional selves to God. Their struggle is learning to follow Jesus' crowd, and not those other crowds, while growing their faith at the same time they are slaying the mantle of being "problem" teenagers." - Dr. John Yacenda
